In celebration of International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), the City of Subiaco is hosting a series of inclusive, all-ability events.
From Monday 1 December to Saturday 6 December, these events offer a unique opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate diversity and build a deeper understanding of the incredible abilities within our community.
The series kicks off with two events at Subiaco Library: Auslan Baby Rhymetime at 10am, and a community workshop called
'Understanding Deafblindness', run by SensesWA, at 6pm.
On Wednesday 3 December, there will be another Auslan Baby Rhymetime session at the library at 10am, and on Thursday 4 December, Sensorium Theatre will be hosting a special
Sensory Storytime in Rankin Gardens at 10.30am.
On Friday 5 December, there will be an Auslan Storytime at the library at 10am, and at 6pm, there will be a
Triple P - Positive Parenting for Children with Disability, Neurodivergence or Additional Needs workshop.
To wrap up the week, the
Nothing About Us, Without Us launch event will be taking place at Subiaco Arts Centre from 10am to 1pm. This is the 6th year of this art exhibition, hosted by Mission Australia and supported by the City of Subiaco, and this year, there will be a vibrant Christmas market, free ice cream, live music and art awards at this special launch event.
All events are free but registration is essential.
The City is also currently welcoming feedback about what events you'd like to see in future series celebrating International Day of People with Disability. Head to
Have Your Say Subiaco to fill out a short online survey before Friday 12 December.
