The City of Subiaco is a proud partner of the Wandana Community Association, the oldest and largest public housing complex in Western Australia.
On Monday 16 March, Wandana celebrated its 70th anniversary with a major celebration, including a pop-up museum, live entertainment, and a jukebox party of music from the 1950s.
The partnership between the City and Wandana, which started in 2019, aims to strengthen and enhance the activities at Wandana; including the Wandana Community Garden, and to support the disadvantaged and vulnerable residents of the Wandana Social Housing Complex.
Mayor David McMullen said, “The City is proud to continue our support of the Wandana Community Association, and to celebrate 70 years of community, care, and connection right here in Subiaco.
“Over the past seven years, the City’s support of Wandana has strengthened and created a number of key community initiatives, including the Wandana Community Garden, a fortnightly morning tea for residents, offsite excursions for residents, and even a brand-new mural at the Wandana site.”
