Blooms into bouquets for new mums and healthcare workers
Thousands of people flocked to the 2025 Subi Blooms x Gather festival, and in a touching gesture, flowers leftover from the festival were repurposed into bouquets for new mums and healthcare staff.
Volunteers from Recycled Blooms wrapped leftover flowers into paper that was lovingly decorated by students from Subiaco Primary School (pictured).
The bouquets were handed out to new and expectant mothers, as well as hardworking healthcare staff, at King Edward Memorial Hospital and St John of God Hospital, Subiaco.
Mayor David McMullen said the initiative captures the heart of Subi Blooms.
"Community spirit has been woven throughout the festival weekend. The small gesture of delivering flowers to new mums and hospital staff continues the theme, and has become a much-loved way of bringing Subi Blooms to a close each year.”
This year's Subi Blooms festival saw more than 30 of Perth's top florists bring the theme 'Roots to Bloom' to life, with 15 spectacular intallations exploring connections to nature and culture.
This year also saw the debut of the Gather Village at Postal Walk, which featured live music, pop-up food vendors, local merchandise, and a fresh flower stall.
Subi Blooms is proudly presented by See Subiaco, a City of Subiaco initiative.
