ACID.FLWRS to headline 2025 Subi Blooms
Sydney-based floral art studio ACID.FLWRS has been confirmed as the curtain-raiser installation for this year’s Subi Blooms festival. The annual event is the biggest display of floral artistry in WA, with the signing set to cement the festival on the national stage.
Following the success of last year’s Stem by Stem by ENESS, the 2025 attraction is expected to draw over 20,000 visitors during its four-week exhibition, which kicks off on Friday 25 April.
The immersive display will be free to the public and available 24/7 for viewing on Seddon Street, near the entrance to ONE Subiaco’s ground floor commercial precinct, in the lead up to the Subi Blooms festival weekend, 9 to 11 May, where the streets will burst to life with a vibrant floral trail, showcasing outdoor installations by some of Perth’s top florists.
The mastermind behind ACID.FLWRS, Claire Mueller (pictured above), who hails originally from Perth, has quickly carved a name for herself with her unique, hyper-coloured, and futuristic floral art. Known as the "Queen of the Original Marbled Orchid," Mueller has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of design.
Since launching in 2021, ACID.FLWRS has had tremendous success, featuring at the National Gallery of Victoria and the David Jones Spring Flower Show. This newest, custom installation, “REFLECT” is designed specifically for Subi Blooms, and Mueller says it will be her biggest work of art yet.
“This piece is an expansion of the ACID.FLWRS world, moving from delicate single flowers to an interactive experience. All ACID.FLWRS work is intended to ‘Make It Brighter’ - creating moments of wonder that spark inspiration and fresh perspectives,” says Mueller.
“I love seeing people experience something they think they already know in a new light. I think being open to new realities is such an important quality in our rapidly evolving world and I want to foster that through my art.”
Created in ACID.FLWRS’ signature visual language, the installation will feature bold marbled patterns, vibrant floral motifs, and mirrored moments, transforming Subiaco into a dreamlike wonderland.
City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen says the City is thrilled to collaborate with and showcase home-grown Perth creative ACID. FLWRS.
“Not only does the Subi Blooms festival provide a platform for talented artists like Claire, but it also plays an important role in enhancing vibrancy and encouraging visitation to our City.
“This is going to be a great addition to our well-loved festival and something really unique for the wider Perth community to experience.”
Subi Blooms 2025 promises to be a stunning celebration of art and nature, and ACID.FLWRS will be a must-visit highlight of this year’s program.
