From colourful murals and immersive installations to activated shopfronts and historic creative spaces, the latest edition of ARTFORM captures the people and projects shaping the City of Subiaco’s cultural landscape.
The third edition of the City’s dedicated arts and culture publication is now available in hard copy and online.
The 100-page publication profiles artists, designers, performers, creative businesses, public artworks, and cultural spaces across the City.
It follows a year of strong creative activity through the City’s partnership with social enterprise SPACEMRKT. During 2025–26, more than 55 exhibitions, events, workshops, pop-ups, and other activations were held, featuring more than 20 artists and creative businesses.
Six vacant commercial spaces were activated with a mix of retail, gallery, workshop, music, community, and cultural programming.
City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said creativity remains central to Subiaco’s character and economic vitality.
“Since the launch of the inaugural edition of ARTFORM in 2024, we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback about its high production value and the spotlight it shines on local talent, events, and experiences,
“As the City of Subiaco’s first dedicated arts, culture, and design publication, it is profiling our creative sector while actively driving interest, participation, and visitation across our city.
“With this latest edition, we continue to reinforce Subiaco as a premier destination for culture, community, and commerce,” he said.
The latest edition takes readers behind the scenes with the muralists transforming Subiaco’s streets and explores Matthew Aberline’s immersive The Light Within installation at Subi Blooms x Gather.
It also revisits the legacy of 1990s artist-run space The Lab, uncovers the story of how Subiaco was “built on a Sunday”, and explores new public art, architecture, hospitality, design, performance, and creative businesses.
A total of 10,000 copies of the first two editions of ARTFORM were distributed across Perth over a 12-month period.
Hard copies of ARTFORM 2026–27 are available at locations across Subiaco, including Subiaco Library, Subiaco Museum, the City’s Administration Centre, local businesses, galleries, and retailers.
