George Saunders once wrote that 'When you read a short story, you come out a little more aware and a little more in love with the world around you.' Well, the good news is that goes double for writing a short story. So, how do you get an idea for a short story? What do you write about, and why? Put simply, how does one write the kind of story that they love, and that has readers feeling all the feelings from beginning to end?
Join Writing WA's Laurie Steed as he explores the short story form: how to write them, why they matter, and why, when it comes to short fiction, you are on the brink of writing something truly special.
