As night falls, the stars begin to tell a story more enthralling than our imagination can conceive. Join astrophysicist Professor Danail Obreschkow—Director of the UWA International Space Centre and researcher at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research—on a cosmic journey through space and time.
This educational talk will take us from our home planet to the edge of the universe, illuminating our place in the cosmos and exploring recent discoveries, from interstellar comets and mysterious radio flashes to distant galaxies and beyond. The adventure concludes with a captivating plunge into a black hole!

About the speaker - Professor Danail Obreschkow
Prof. Danail Obreschkow is an astrophysicist at the University of Western Australia (UWA) node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) and the Director of UWA's International Space Centre (ISC). He pursues computational research in extragalactic astrophysics and experimental research in microgravity. Born in Switzerland, he graduated in physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, before obtaining his PhD in astrophysics from the University of Oxford in 2009. Subsequently, he spent two years in industry before joining UWA as a faculty member. Privately, he enjoys his family with three curious young boys.
