Seniors Space - World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

The City of Subiaco and The Third Place invite you to a purple themed morning tea to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Join us to raise awareness to prevent elder abuse and safeguard the rights of older people by wearing purple to start a conversation.

The Subiaco Justice Centre lawyers will join us from 10am to provide information on the rights of older people and information on services available to the community. Come along and ask any question you may have in an informal and confidential space.

Estimated to affect 1 in 20 older people in Western Australia, elder abuse is defined by the World Health Organisation as a single or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person.

For further information on support services available please visit,
Seniors Space is free and welcomes over 55s. Drop in any time on Thursday mornings! Socialise with new and old friends over a cup of tea, coffee or games. The presentation starts at 10am.
