See Subi on Sunday - Sustainability and Service to Community
Subiaco was proclaimed a Municipality in 1897 and became the City of Subiaco in 1952. Be a tourist in your own town discovering and learning the history of interesting places you often pass but often do not see. Experience the strong sense of local identity at Earthwise Community Centre in Bagot Road. This is a community hub providing permaculture garden, op shop and food centre. Join us for an Anzac biscuit and "billy tea" at the completion of the walk.
Start and finish on grassed area corner of Hensman Street and Hamersley Road, Subiaco.
The walks take approximately one and a half hours to complete and are suitable for people of all ages. Walks are conducted in a relaxed, friendly and informative manner. Community members with past and present connections to the areas visited are invited to provide personal anecdotes that enhance the appreciation of the location explored during each walk.
The See Subi on Sunday walks work on the same basis as a group of friends walking together, who invite others to join them. New walkers are always welcome.
Event Details: Walks will go ahead rain or shine but will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms or hail. All walkers take part at their own risk.
