See Subi on Sunday - Subiaco Heritage Area
Learn about Subiaco from 1851, the development of the area away from the railway line and the importance of leadlight windows and doors. Join us for an Anzac biscuit and "billy tea" at completion of the walk.
Start and finish at Subiaco Museum, Rokeby Road, Subiaco.
An opportunity to explore this unique garden suburb which was designed as a restful residential area for workers from the industrial area on the northern side of Hay Street and learn about the identities recognised by street and park names.
The walks take approximately one and a half hours to complete and are suitable for people of all ages. Walks are conducted in a relaxed, friendly and informative manner. Community members with past and present connections to the areas visited are invited to provide personal anecdotes that enhance the appreciation of the location explored during each walk.
The See Subi on Sunday walks work on the same basis as a group of friends walking together, who invite others to join them. New walkers are always welcome.
Event Details: Walks will go ahead rain or shine but will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms or hail. All walkers take part at their own risk.
