Science Week - Einsteins Australia
Monday 10 August 2026 | 3.30pm - 4.30pm | Subiaco Library
Ages 6+

The National Science Week theme for 2026 is Seeds of Science - Nurturing knowledge for all. This theme invites students across Australia to explore the power of curiosity, inquiry and shared learning in growing scientific understanding.

Join us after school for an interactive hands-on activity with Einsteins Australia. From pearls to ancient trees to crystal caves, everything starts with a seed. These building blocks of life grow into amazing things and show us how a tiny idea can take root and expand into huge adventures of science.

Discover how plants, crystals and minerals form. Observe the structure and growth patterns of minerals, rocks, crystals, Australian seed pods and plants with magnifiers. Make compostable seed containers and dig through the crystal chips to choose your favourites to start your own mini crystal collection.

Subiaco library runs science week events for school children after school. An adult must accompany children, and remain within the library, during all activities.

Please book tickets for children participating in the event.
