Q&A and Writing Skills with Raewyn Caisley

Meet online award-winning author Raewyn Caisley teaching key skills and answers questions leading into the Craig Silvey Award 2024

Q&A and Writing Skills with Raewyn Caisley

Wednesday 26 June 9am to 10am.
Online

Join award winning author Raewyn Caisley online as she takes students through a My Place worksheet filled with skills and tips and then ask all your questions about writing, editing and idea creation.

The session will be a live “zoom” style presentation (using Microsoft Teams) where Raewyn will run the group through a short skill workshop (the document she uses will be emailed to those booked in).
This short skills sheet works well with a variety of ages with each participant looking at what they're experiencing and what words they would use, very much focusing on the adage "write what you know".

This workshop is offered to schools around the state as part of the Craig Silvey Award for Young Writers 2024.

She was recognised for her contribution to changing the lives of young West Australians with her very ‘West Aussie’ children’s books Hello From Nowhere, Meet Eve in the Outback, Something Wonderful and Rocky and Louie (which she co-authored with Noongar man Phil Walley-Stack) and through the thousands of inspiring talks and workshops she has given in schools and libraries all over the state.

Raewyn has 25 years experience writing and teaching with a combination of experiences, insights and skills as well as boundless enthusiasm. Her love to see children grow their writing, see their imagingation take off and share their stories makes her workshops incredible.
