Designed for Children

These events are designed for children and family groups of multiple ages. Many of the events take place outside the museum building so you may want to bring a hat.

Did you know Subiaco used to have an outdoor picture theatre and our other theatre The Regal turns 85 this year? Come and have a play in the museum’s Coliseum Theatre ticket box and learn how the first motion pictures were made. Children will get to make their own zoetrope and motion flick books as well as look at the museum’s collection of stereoscope cards and viewers, magic lanterns and our miniature rotoscope.

Note: This requires some cutting and gluing which may need parent assistance.

During this event the Subiaco Museum team will also be running an open day to have some of our objects professionally photographed. Feel free to ask questions about the work the team do and process of object photography.

The Museum is located behind Subiaco Library at 239 Rokeby Road, Subiaco, WA 6008.

Public Transport

The closest bus routes are the 97, 27 and 28.

Parking

Parking (including ACROD) bays are available outside the Museum.

Toilets are located at the Subiaco Library.

NOTE: Please do not attend Subiaco Museum if you are feeling unwell, you are most welcome to cancel your free ticket at any time and re-book into future upcoming events when you are feeling better and are symptom free. We ask that all visitors maintain good hand hygiene and utilise the hand sanitiser available when attending events.
