"Exploring the genre of Still Life painting is something I have been working on for a long time. I like the way a group of objects can resonate with each other. The stories and nuances that curated tableaus bring together in little pools of morning light and shadow, interest me."
"The Subiaco Museum shares the social history of the local area. Objects displayed are the belongings of people who lived and worked in Subiaco in the past. The place is a depository of memories. It also connects to the present day lives of people who visit to enjoy and learn from the collection. My home and studio are within the boundaries of the City of Subiaco. It is the perfect exhibition space for my still life paintings ‘Life’s Objects."
As part of the Community Artist Series Myra Staffa is the Subiaco Museum Artist in Residence from the 27 to 30 September 2023.
