Museum Mornings - Corner Store

Before the supermarket and the widespread use of motor cars, local stores provided day-to-day access to essential items. Today only five surviving examples of 1920’s corner stores built in Subiaco and Shenton Park remain. Learn about the rise and decline of the corner store. Reminisce with a visit to the museum’s old corner store.

Museum Mornings are held on the first Thursday of the month at the Subiaco Museum.

Book now to join this free event for older adults from 10am to11.30am to explore the Museum collection and discover new artefacts with a different theme each month.

Meet new people, share memories or sit back, reminisce and listen to some interesting history over a free morning tea.

This event will take place at the Subiaco Museum. Free morning tea provided. Please note the closest toilets are located at the Subiaco Library.
