Leonard Goulds is an educator and writers who was a judge with the Tim Winton Award for Young Writers . Leonard will be taking young writers through some ways to create strong characters that can drive successful stories.
This is a part of a writing workshop series for the Craig Silvey Award for Young Writers and aims to develop the skills and techniques of budding authors.
About the Author
Leonard Goulds is an educator and writer who has been part of the Tim Winton (now Craig Silvey) Award judging panel since 2016. As a secondary teacher he specialises in Humanities (particularly History), English and Drama, while also delivering workshops on writing and creativity for groups such as NaNoWriMo and the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA. His short fiction has received highly commended places in the Hadow/Stuart (2014), Stringybark (2014) and Molotov Cocktail Flash Legends (2019) competitions. His work has also featured in Once: A selection of short short stories and Twice not shy: One hundred short short stories, Night Parrot Press’ anthologies of flash fiction.
