Come and celebrate Children's Book Week® with Subiaco Library.

Each year schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. This is an opportunity to meet a well loved author and learn about the joys of writing, how to become published and where authors find their inspiration and amazing ideas.

Meet Mark Greenwood
Mark Greenwood is a history hunter who loves sharing his curiosity and stories that he finds. His award-winning books include Jandamarra, Boomerang and Bat and The Legend of Lasseter’s Reef. Mark often teams with his wife, illustrator Frané Lessac, to produce titles such as Ned Kelly & The Green Sash, The Legend of Moondyne Joe and Simpson and His Donkey.

Our Country Where History Happened is shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year 2024 and Mark's new series - History Hunter will be released mid 2024.

How to book a session

Select one of the drop down sessions and add your class.

• 9.30 am - 10.30am - Year 2 - 4

• 1 1am - 12pm - Year 4 - 6

• 1 pm - 2pm - Year 4 -6

Please book tickets for all attending - students and teachers.

Age Restrictions Please be aware of the age restrictions for each session. Sessions have been specifically designed for certain age groups and age restrictions will apply. Utmost attention has be given to provide equal number of sessions for each age group.

Getting to the event: Subiaco Library has limited parking bays available at the rear of the building including two accessible parking bays. For more information on getting around Subiaco visit the city’s website.
