Auspol Explained: The History of Voting and Elections

Join politics content creator Auspol Explained for this educational and entertaining talk that helps demystify voting and elections.

Auspol Explained (aka David Cox) is a writer and Youtuber whose content has helped thousands of people understand Australian politics, making what is often considered a boring and confusing topic entertaining and easy to understand.

Join David as he uncovers the history of voting in Australia and how it has evolved; from the first parliamentary election in Australia where riots broke out, to how voting stopped being exclusively for male landowners to include women, Aboriginal people, and more. Learn how voting and elections have changed over time, and the legislative and constitutional reforms that have been adopted to make the voting and elections the accessible and equitable process we take for granted today.

Please note: the contents of this presentation is educational and politically impartial. No political views will be shared or discussed at this event.
