Art in April School holiday activity

Calling all 12+ creatives to come along and brush up on your artistry skills with local cartoonist Aśka!

If you're a 12+ creative come and spend an afternoon with energetic visual storyteller and comic maker Aśka.

Her characters are expressive, loud, and slightly naughty. Her latest graphic novel: Stars in Their Eyes, (with Jessica Walton), has been describe by Nerd Daily as a 'captivating graphic novel with a beautiful art style, a diverse and inclusive cast and a fluffy like-at-first-sight romance that will have fans miss conventions and meet cutes to boot '.

Using only line art, you will learn how to create an image that grabs attention, communicates a story and entertains the viewer. Also learn how to throw out pencils and work with markers to create bold images and embrace ‘mistakes’.

Take part in many short drawing activities to develop design skills and some basic human form drawing skills. Then create a cover for an imaginary comic-book, with maximum dynamic expression, story-telling appeal and evocative lettering.

This is a session designed for participants aged twelve and up. Bring your friends and have some creative fun these school holidays!

Please book a ticket for everyone attending. Cool drinks will be provided at this session.

Bookings open Monday 28 March at 9.30am – bookings are essential and places are limited.
