Town Centre Parking Precinct Plan adopted

Following public consultation and adoption by Council at its meeting on 21 November, the City of Subiaco will start to implement changes to parking in the town centre precinct.

Up to 23,920 additional parking opportunities per year will be generated for motorists in the area of high demand surrounding King Edward Memorial Hospital through the introduction of a three-hour limit Monday to Friday, with a first hour free option and fees thereafter.

Fees at Bagot Road Car Station 24, Barker Road Car Station 11, and Hensman Road Car Station 4 will be reduced from $1.80 per hour or $10 all day to the first hour free and up to $4.50 for three hours.

There will also be the installation of paid parking on sections of Hamersley Road, Barker Road and Churchill Avenue.

Following engagement with businesses surrounding Subiaco train station, the time control at Subiaco Square Road will increase from 30-minutes to one hour. This means that drivers will be able to park for one hour if they display a valid ticket on their car dashboard.

To assist deliveries to local businesses situated near the corner of Railway Road, Rokeby Road and Roberts Road, a Loading Zone will be introduced on Alvan Street.

As we implement these improvements, our Rangers will continue with education and enforcement programs to ensure that all motorists have equal access to parking opportunities in high demand areas.

The changes to parking in the town centre precinct will be implemented in the next three months.
