Benefits of volunteering
Volunteering is one way you can show you care for your community, are keen to make a contribution to the lives of others, and want to connect with new people.
According to Volunteering WA, WA's peak body for volunteering, there are countless benefits gained from volunteering - the impact has a ripple effect starting with the volunteer, the organisation, service and/or people benefitting from the volunteer and the impact this has on our community.

Volunteering with the City of Subiaco
Volunteers are an important link in our community and their contribution is highly valued by the City.
Did you know that in 2016, 27 per cent of Subi residents reported doing some form of voluntary work compared to Greater Perth's average of 17 per cent?
The City of Subiaco has eight volunteer programs where volunteers make regular and valued contributions.The City's volunteers help provide services across a range of areas including seniors activities, library, museum, environment, and recreation.
The City of Subiaco has 9 volunteer programs which include:
- Museum Program
- Subi Voice of Youth
- Community Events (seniors)
- Lords Community Exercise Classes
- Wandana Community Garden
- Books on Wheels
- English Conversation Club
- Justice of the Peace
- Environmental Program (currently on hold)
