The City is working towards more sustainable and safer suburbs through lighting upgrades that will see existing fluorescent lamps in City-owned street lights replaced with more efficient and reliable LEDs.
At last month’s Council Meeting, Elected Members approved a tender which will see 17 more streets and roads across Subiaco, Daglish and Shenton Park upgraded as part of the ongoing street lighting improvement program.
LEDs help improve community safety, reduce running and maintenance costs, and ensure compliance with Australian standards.
They also contribute positively to the City’s sustainability targets including an ambitious reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
