The City has taken out a bronze award in the Tourism Marketing & Campaigns category in the 2024 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, held on Saturday 9 November.
The award recognises ‘Summer in Subi’, a marketing campaign created and executed by See Subiaco, the destination brand of the City of Subiaco, over the 2023-24 summer period.
‘Summer in Subi’ featured a number of headline events, including the Subi Spritz food and drink festival, the Subi Night Market, the ‘tis the SEEson’ Christmas campaign and lights trail, and Subiaco tourism magazine,
Eat Shop Live.
The campaign achieved a visitation of more than 105,000 people, and substantial local economic impact.
Mayor David McMullen said Subiaco's events scene is thriving.
"Campaigns like 'Summer in Subi' have kept Subiaco top of mind, all year round.
"A cornerstone of the campaign was the inaugural season of the Subi Night Market, which last year alone drew over 60,000 visitors. With season two now underway, the Night Market is again livening up our City each Saturday evening.
"My congratulations go to the See Subiaco team on this well-earned recognition. The See Subiaco events calendar, and ongoing destination marketing, is building a strong 'Subi' brand and positioning our City as a standout destination."
This award is the third win for the team in the past few months, with the
Walmsley Lane transformation taking out a
Minister for Local Government’s Place Innovation Award, and Subi Blooms, our annual Mother’s Day floral event, being crowned a State Winner in the Australian Event Awards and Symposium.
