The Subi Kids Crew (SKC) recently gave up an afternoon after school to help Subiaco Library buy new books for its children’s collection.
SKC chose 36 new books from Dymocks Subiaco for the library covering a multitude of topics including graphic novels, young adult novels, picture books and some non-fiction titles.
All books chosen by the crew have a special SKC sticker on the cover and are now on display at the library and available to borrow.
SKC gives children aged 7 to 11 years an opportunity to learn about local government and develop their sense of civic responsibility, teamwork and communications skills. Sessions are held once a term and include activities such as sustainable gardening, junior ranger training, and art workshops.
