Slime, book making and the amazing race

Ticked off all the usual suspects with the kids these holidays? Come to the City for something a little bit different and kick holiday boredom to the kerb.

Lords Recreation Centre has a carnival, a mega sports day, an amazing race style event, a survivor challenge and even a slime day.

Over at Subiaco Library, everything is up in the air – in the best possible way. Learn about kites before making your own, make a hot air balloon using a paper lantern, or use recycled materials to create and decorate your own alien.

There will also be Lego club, coding fun with littleBits, and some book making sessions with well-known author and illustrator Kelly Canby.

And after you’re done at the library, you can pop next door to Subiaco Museum to explore Kelly Canby’s work in a colourful exhibition or step back in time to explore what life used to be like before the era of phones, the internet and even fridges.

The City is also home to a number of great parks (perfect for picnics or kicking around the football) as well as many local businesses who can ensure you stay caffeinated, fed and entertained.
