Scribblers Festival is set to take over Subiaco this May when it takes up residence in its new home – Subiaco Arts Centre.
Proudly supported by the City, Scribblers Festival is FORM’s popular annual festival of literature and arts for young people which celebrates the magic of storytelling and the powerful role that creativity plays in shaping the world.
The festival fun has kicked off already with the Golden Feather Hunt across 130 libraries in WA, including Subiaco Library, and with a unique exhibition (RELICS: Bricks of the New World) by Lego Masters winners Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler.
The fun will culminate on the weekend on 8-9 May with the family program at the arts centre which will feature 26 local and interstate literary talents talking all things writing and creativity including making your own comic, Dreamtime stories and dance, and meeting Lego Masters superstars.
There will also be some special Mother’s Day pop-up events and a teen podcasters interviewing some of the festivals top talent.
The family weekend will have a mix of free and ticketed events.

Subiaco Street RELICS
Some Lego minifigs have escaped the RELICS: Bricks of the New World exhibition and are making their way to Subiaco.
Grab your free Subiaco Street RELICS map online or from Subiaco Library and join the hunt to find them hidden in various buildings in the heart of the City from 3 to 30 May.
There are nine to be found and a special tenth installation with appear for a limited time at Subiaco Arts Centre during Scribblers Festival Family Weekend on 8-9 May.
Update 29 April
Due to the pandemic, Scribblers Festival has been pushed back:
- the Schools Program will now run 24 to 28 May at Subiaco Arts Centre and 31 May to 1 June at The Regal Theatre
- the Family Weekend will now take place 29 to 30 May 2021 at the Subiaco Arts Centre
- Subiaco Street RELICS will now run 24 May to 20 June.
