Program for entrepreneurs wraps up with showcase event
The innovative Subiaco Connect program wrapped up today with a showcase event that saw some of Perth’s top entrepreneurs converge in Subiaco.
The City worked with Atomic Sky on the 12-month program which helped turn business ideas into reality for innovators, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
It was designed to accelerate, scale-up and commercialise business ideas through a range of mentoring, training and funding opportunities.
This included 19 masterclasses or workshops, four entrepreneurship events, and 18 trainers and speakers across the year, as well as the opportunity to pitch their ideas to real investors.
Focus was on research, assessment, testing, marketing and source funding to convert ideas from paper and into reality.
The showcase event featured guest speakers such as Charlie Gunningham – WA Entrepreneur of the Year and Peter Rossdeutscher – WA Achiever of the Year.
The City of Subiaco has the highest concentration of creative businesses in WA and the City is keen to not only support existing businesses but also help get new ideas off the ground to benefit the local economy and community.
Subiaco Connect was partly funded by the Australian Government Entrepreneurs’ program and was delivered in partnership with Atomic Sky.
The City of Subiaco has previously partnered with Curtin University, Perth Angels and AustCyber to deliver innovation programs to support and attract small businesses to the area.
