In its 2023 Heritage Achievements document, the City of Subiaco offers an overview of the vast achievements of all staff who worked to preserve and conserve the City’s rich heritage.
Key highlights within the document include:
- 4087 visitors to Subiaco Museum in 2023, inclusive of 30 school visits (Subiaco Primary School, Jolimont Primary School, and eight external schools)
- 25 development approvals for heritage-listed places granted
- 146 events held at Subiaco Museum, including four exhibitions
- 3 heritage grants approved
- The launch of the Museum Shop, which offers tea towels, puzzles, cards, and prints based on the museum’s Heritage Map and original artwork by local artist Jane Coffey
- More than 180 oral histories digitised and uploaded to CollectionsWA, which join the Museum’s 4,500 total records within its collection on the site, and
- Preparation of the draft Daglish Local Heritage Survey, which will be presented to Council for adoption in early 2024.
2023 was also a milestone year for many of the City’s monuments, including the 100-year anniversary of the Subiaco Fallen Soldiers Memorial, and the building that now houses the Subiaco Museum, at 239 Rokeby Road.
