Literature and science combine at Subiaco Library.
Help us celebrate libraries and their workers this May for Library and Information Week with a special visit from Scitech and a story read from space!
Join us for a National Simultaneous Storytime like no other on Wednesday 19 May when Give Me Some Space by Philip Bunting will be read out from the International Space Station.
The City will be streaming the out-of-this-world reading in the Children’s Library from 11am. The event is free to attend but bookings are essential.
And if you miss National Simultaneous Storytime, Subiaco Library will be holding repeat sessions on Tuesday 18 May and Friday 21 May so you don’t miss out on the wonder of storytime from space.
The City has also organised a special family event on Monday 17 May with Scitech.
Book your free spot to see the Burning, Melting, Saving Show which uses curiosity and experimentation to find out how science, technology, engineering and maths can help solve some big world problems.
A light supper and refreshments will be served. This event is suitable for all ages.
These events are part of Library and Information Week which celebrates libraries in the community and their wonderful workers. This year’s theme is ‘Adventures in Space and Time’.
