Language course a resounding success

A City-first Noongar language course that wrapped-up over the weekend was a resounding success with participants rating it 5 stars out of 5.

The free course – which dived into the rich heritage of Noongar language and culture – was run over five weeks by Dylan Collard from Kalyakoorl to help preserve and celebrate the language.

It proved popular with all available spots accounted for and even a waitlist to get into the Saturday morning sessions.

Participants said it was the perfect introduction to the Noongar language and culture and very practical.

One attendee said the course was “A window into Noongar language and culture which pops up whenever I hear or read AoC [Acknowledgement of Country]. Makes me feel welcomed and increases my sense of belonging to Perth.”
