The City of Subiaco’s iconic free sunset@subi concert series is back for its 37
th season to help you make the most of warm summer evenings with family and friends under the setting sun.
This year’s six-concert program kicks off with a special Christmas concert at Lake Jualbup on Sunday 22 December with a three-part harmony group, smooth swing arrangements of Christmas favourites and a special appearance by Santa himself.
The series will resume in the new year with acts including a homage to the pioneers of jazz from the roaring twenties, hits from the 70s and 80s reimaged in a big band style and a tribute to the queens of pop from the swinging sixties.
The Royal Australian Navy Band Western Australia will be playing at Market Square and WA’s premier cover band, PROOF The Band, will be performing crowd-pleasing hits from across the decades at Lake Jualbup.
Concerts run from 6pm to 8pm, with an Auslan interpreter on stage at all performances.
City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said the sunset@subi concert series is a summer tradition that has become an iconic fixture in the City’s event calendar.
"There’s a reason this concert series has thrived for 37 seasons. The picturesque setting and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, coupled with great music from talent artists makes for a great way to spend a summer evening," he said.
"The opening of the series with the Christmas concert at Lake Jualbup in Shenton Park each year tells you Christmas is here. It's a great time of year to be in City of Subiaco."
All concerts are free to attend and no bookings are required. The City of Subiaco has free parking in
Subipark car stations all weekend – no ticket required.
