The first half of the Forrest Walk Public Realm Upgrade is complete and open to the public.
The upgrade seeks to enhance the pedestrian-focussed space, address community needs, and enhance walkability between Rokeby Road and Rowland Street.
Key upgrades completed so far include repaving, upgrades to the drainage system, and installation of the first of three concrete seating plinths featuring integrated artwork by Jahne Rees.
Pedestrian access and access to local businesses within Forrest Walk is being maintained at all times, and people are encouraged to continue to visit the area and see the new additions.
Construction will now begin on the remaining half of the space, with expected completion scheduled for September 2024.
Pedestrians are advised to follow construction signs when visiting the area.
