Community Development grants are now open

Community Development grants support community activities that provide programs and services to the City of Subiaco. Innovative cultural and community activities that benefit the community are awarded funding twice a year through this program.

Individuals, community-based organisation and local groups are encouraged to apply. For more information about the City’s available grants, call 9237 9222 or email culture@subiaco.wa.gov.au. This grant round is now open and closes at 5pm on Friday, 30 September 2022.

If you would like more information about successful projects or some ideas for your own application, take a look at the list of previously funded projects here.

Wandana Morning Teas
Songfest have previously received funding through the City of Subiaco’s Community Development grants to support the Wandana Community Association to run their Wandana Morning Tea sessions.

This grant helps the committee continue organising and running the fortnightly morning tea social group at the Wandana Apartments. You can learn more about Wandana Apartments and some of the programs running there at www.songfest.com.au/wandanasong

The Wandana apartment building complex was built in 1956 and is famously the first multi-storey block to be built in WA. It has 245 apartments and is now a State Heritage listed building.

The residents at Wandana come from very diverse backgrounds and these fortnightly morning teas minimise the feeling of isolation, support the development of community spirit, and improve wellbeing among residents by creating a socially inclusive atmosphere.

The Wandana morning teas project is one of many making a difference in our communities. If you have a great idea that supports the community, the City of Subiaco would love to hear from you. Visit the Community Development page for more information.
