City supports Subiaco Football Club as grand final approaches

The City would like to congratulate Subiaco Football Club for once again making it to the WAFL grand final.

The game will be played at Optus Stadium with bounce down at 3.20pm on Saturday 2 October.

The City supports the club by contributing to the player award for best clubman and will continue to support the Subiaco Football Club into the future.

“Getting to the grand final is a fantastic achievement and the club have proven they’re a powerhouse in the WAFL, having won eight grand finals since 2004,” Mayor Penny Taylor said.

“Congratulations to all the players, staff and volunteers; whatever the outcome of the grand final, we’re all very proud of you and wish you the best of luck.”

Subiaco Football Club will face South Fremantle Football Club this weekend at Optus Stadium only one week after a historic AFL grand final was played there.

A number of City venues will be showing the game live, including Your Local, Fenway Subiaco, The Village Bar Subiaco, and the iconic Subiaco Hotel.

Pre and post-game, there is a multitude of places for a drink and a meal in Subiaco with a number of new venues recently opening in the area among old favourites.

Parking in City carparks is free on weekends and Subiaco train station provides easy public transport access to the town centre on the way to or from the stadium.
