The City of Subiaco’s popular
‘For a day’ video series has been recognised at a national level as a finalist in the Australian Marketing Institute’s 2025 Awards Excellence Program in the Public Sector Marketing category.
The video series, which was produced by the City’s Communications and Engagement team, gives a behind-the-scenes look at the diverse roles that keep the City of Subiaco running.
From keeping parks tidy to stacking shelves at the library, each episode sees a current City staff member step into an entirely different team ‘for a day’, often with hilarious and wholesome results.
The series not only shines a spotlight on the variety of work done by the City’s passionate staff, but has been promoted across the City’s social media channels, including
Facebook,
Instagram and
LinkedIn, to showcase the City as a positive and inspiring place to work, where people can make a tangible difference in the Subiaco community.
Feedback for the series on social media has been very positive, with comments including “Love this! I’m such a fan of breaking down silos, and initiatives like this let us really see and value the skills and strengths of people across and organisation”, and “This is awesome, nothing better than getting stuck in and knowing your community.”
Mayor David McMullen said this nomination is testament to the City’s hard-working staff and the value they provide our community.
“The ‘For a day’ video series has been incredibly successful on the City’s social media channels over the past 12 months. All credit must go to the small internal team who produce this kind of high quality content for the City. Recognition at this level is thoroughly deserved.
“Our staff at the City are passionate and really go the extra mile for our community, and these videos are a light-hearted way to share this with people who might not know exactly what goes into keeping a local government running.”
The award winner will be announced next month.
