Subiaco Library is taking the fun outdoors this summer with a number of regular activities now taking place in the adjoining park to help reduce risks associated with COVID and ensure continuation of services for all.
Moving regular activities – including Storytime, Baby Rhymetime, English Conversation Club and book clubs – into the fresh air and sunshine, means there is more space to socially distance and patrons have also been really enjoying it.
Children’s activities are now taking place every morning Monday to Thursday in the garden outside Subiaco Museum and library staff will be bringing the comforts of the indoors outside for its book clubs, complete with a mobile coffee cart for the adult sessions.
Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said: “In Subiaco, we have a number of leafy parks and gardens – which fortunately includes the space outside the library. This gives us somewhere to hold these community activities which allows our community to enjoy the outdoors, while also minimising COVID risks.”
Due to COVID, Subiaco Library is also making additional changes, including introducing a new ‘click and collect’ service so everyone can continue to access library resources without needing to enter the building.
This new service will be offered every day between 9.30am and 5pm with Fridays now being exclusively ‘click and collect’ as the building will be closed due to staffing changes.
Subiaco Museum will also see some changes to its opening hours: closed Monday and Tuesday (but available for private viewings or by appointment), with extended opening hours Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (12pm to 4pm). Saturdays will be open 10am to 2pm as usual.
It is now a condition of entry to Subiaco Library and Subiaco Museum that anyone aged 16 years and over must show proof of vaccination.
