On Thursday 26 January, 29 new Australian citizens were sworn in at a Citizenship Ceremony hosted by the City of Subiaco at Rankin Gardens.
To commemorate the occasion, the City incorporated a number of key elements to recognise Aboriginal culture within the ceremony.
These included a performance from Aboriginal band ‘Last Round Aces’, and hand-crafted gifts from Whadjuk business ‘Paperbark Prints’, which were handed out to new citizens. Additionally, a Whadjuk Elder conducted a Welcome to Country at the ceremony.
Congratulations to all of our newest citizens.
