Children's Book Week 2022- Gavin Aung Than - Session Two for Years 3-6

Celebrate Children's Book Week with Subiaco Library. Bring along Year 3 to Year 6 classes for a session with Gavin Aung Than.

Come and celebrate Children's Book Week with Subiaco Library.

Each year schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. This is an opportunity to meet a well loved author and learn about the joys of writing, how to become published and where authors find their inspiration and amazing ideas.

The theme this year is Dreaming with Eyes Open... To day dream is to have dreamlike musings or fantasies while awake. What do you dream about with your eyes open?

Meet Gavin Aung Than

Gavin Aung Than is a New York Times bestselling cartoonist and creator of Zen Pencils, a cartoon blog which adapts inspirational quotes into comic stories. Gavin is currently working on the middle grade graphic novel series Super Sidekicks.

This session is for Years 3 - 6.

Join Gavin as he shares his love for drawing and teaches students how to draw his characters. From the superheroes from his graphic novel series Super Sidekicks to the new characters he’s created for his upcoming picture book. He’ll also share how his passion for doodling as a kid turned into his dream job as an author and illustrator, and take you behind-the-scenes of how he makes his books. A fun and interactive session for all scribblers!
