Come and celebrate Children's Book Week with Subiaco Library.
Each year schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. This is an opportunity to meet a well loved author and learn about the joys of writing, how to become published and where authors find their inspiration and amazing ideas.
The theme this year is Dreaming with Eyes Open... To day dream is to have dreamlike musings or fantasies while awake. What do you dream about with your eyes open?
Meet Briony Stewart
Briony Stewart is the author and illustrator of several award-winning books for children, including Kumiko and the Dragon series and We Love You Magoo. Briony lectures on children’s literature at university and conducts talks and workshops with children across Australia. She loves drawing challenges, day dreaming and discussing dragons, bunnies and how to tame lions.
Join Briony for a hands on session conjuring characters. Listen to the exploits of Briony’s character Magoo the cheeky dog who is always getting into mischief. Watch as characters are conjured by an award winning illustrator and learn how ideas and stories come together.
