Come along and brush up on your artistry skills with local author and illustrator Karen Blair!

Come spend a morning with award-winning author and illustrator Karen Blair! Karen loves to illustrate the joys and adventures of childhood. Her latest picture book, Train Party, is a CBCA Notable book for 2022.

All aboard the Train Party!

Come and explore some of the techniques Karen used to create her picture book, Train Party, then create your own train picture, with you and your favourite people riding the train.

Subiaco library runs a free school holiday program for school children aged five and up. An adult must accompany children, and remain within the library, during all activities.

Please book a ticket for every child attending.

Bookings open Monday 28 March at 9.30am – bookings are essential and places are limited.

NOTE: Please do not attend Subiaco Library if you are feeling unwell, you are most welcome to cancel your free ticket at any time and re-book into future upcoming events when you are feeling better and are symptom free. We ask that all visitors maintain good hand hygiene and utilise the hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities available when attending events. Please maintain social distancing when attending events and if you have any concerns raise them with our friendly staff.

More information 

Ticket information: you are not required to bring your ticket with you to the session. In the case of a sold out session, names will be check at the venue. 

Parent supervision: all children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout the school holiday session. All attending children must pre-book a ticket as spaces are limited for each session. 

Age restrictions: please be aware of the age restrictions for each session. Sessions have been specifically designed for certain age groups and age restrictions may apply. Please read the information carefully. 

Getting to the event: Subiaco Library has limited parking bays available at the rear of the building including two accessible parking bays. For more information on getting around Subiaco visit the city’s website.
