Resilience program is helping businesses get back on their feet
Monday 22 June 2020

The City has been supporting local businesses a number of ways during these challenging times, including with its unique business resilience program.
The free program, which provides both short and longer term support to help with recovery, partners Subiaco businesses with a specialised consultant to access tailored one-to-one coaching, support and mentoring for six months.
It was designed to assist industry sectors that were most vulnerable to the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to help businesses respond and adapt to the immediate, ongoing and recovery stages of the pandemic.
SurFACE Skin signed up to be part of the program and said it helped them get a better idea of what they were working towards and what they could achieve as a business post COVID-19.
“It is a truly a fantastic program that the City of Subiaco has put together, and we are so appreciative to have been a recipient of it, especially through such challenging times,” SurFACE Skin owner Jessica Wrightson said.
“For our business to have this sort of coaching and get some clear direction for how we can succeed post-COVID and into the future, is incredible.
“Being able to contribute back to the Subiaco community, is something we are very passionate about and are eager to be a part of in the future.”
SurFACE Skin were partnered with Business Consultant, Justin Davies from Emergination Business Advisory Services who said this was a great initiative that had received lots of positive feedback from businesses already.
“The work the City are doing for these owners will make a difference for years to come,” he said.

Mayor Penny Taylor said it was fantastic that the program had been so well received by the business community.
“It was so important to the City that we provide tailored relief and recovery initiatives during this challenging time to help set up our businesses for long-term recovery,” she said.
“Local businesses are vital to our community and our City’s vibrancy and identity – we want to do everything we can to help them come out the other side of this stronger than ever.”

The Business Resilience Program is one of the business support initiatives of the City’s $4M COVID-19 relief package.
