All businesses operating within the City of Subiaco must be registered. Businesses wishing to perform hairdressing, beauty or skin penetration procedures, like tattooing or body piercing, require approval.

Application form
To apply, please submit the following to the City:

• plans to scale (1:50) indicating floor, wall and ceiling finishes, shelving, fittings, and other furniture within the premises
• a list of all the procedures that will be undertaken on the premises.

Complimentary drinks service
If you wish to offer complimentary drinks, you must complete the City’s notification form (PDF, 81KB) and pay a one-off notification fee.  For more information, please refer to the schedule of fees.

Additional information

• All hairdressing and beauty businesses must comply with the Health (Skin Penetration Procedure) Regulations 1998 and the Hairdressing Establishment Regulations 1972.
• All body art and tattoo businesses must comply with the Health (Skin Penetration Procedure) Regulations 1998.
