COVID-19 community support

Find out more about these programs and initiatives to support community members in the immediate and long term recovery stages of COVID-19.

Rates relief and financial hardship

There will be no increase to the total rates levied or waste services charges this year. The City is also investigating ways to deliver a rates reduction.

Financial Hardship consideration is available on outstanding rates and services charges from 2 April 2020, as well as rates and service charges levied for the 2020/21 financial year. If you are experiencing financial hardship, you are encouraged to provide information about your individual circumstances that may be relevant for assessment. Find out more.

Financial support for young people

Our Youth Achievement Grants program has been expanded to support young people during COVID-19. Young residents or students can apply for financial support for personal or professional development, including online or remote learning. Find out more.

Wellness checks for elderly and vulnerable

The City is doing regular phone check-ins and can provide care and wellness packs for vulnerable an in-need members of the community. If you have a family member or neighbour who is over 65, has a disability or is living alone, the City may be able to provide connection and kindness. Give us a call on 9237 9222 or email for more information.
