New partnerships and support for the community
Monday 7 September 2020

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City has initiated a number of new community organisations partnerships and issued specific grants to ensure our community have the assistance they need at this time and into the future.

During the pandemic, Beyond Blue reported a significant increase in demand for mental health support services from the Subiaco community, with numbers continuing to increase.

While the City itself has introduced specific initiatives and programs to provide relief and support to the community, these partnerships will provide specialised and expert help to those who may need it during this unprecedented time.

Many of the activities offered as part of these partnerships and grant agreements are free of charge.

The new agreements include:

  • a partnership with the Australian Red Cross to run eight virtual mental health sessions for our community
  • a partnership with Beyond Blue to provide 24/7 mental health support and assistance to the community during and after the COVID-19 crisis
  • awarding a grant to Look Good Feel Better Australia to help educate and empower cancer patients.

The City is proud to partner with and support these organisations which are making such a positive difference in the community.
