The City of Subiaco will take back planning control of the Subi Centro Redevelopment Area from June this year.
DevelopmentWA is preparing to transfer the majority of land from the redevelopment area back to the City, with the exception of the Australian Fine China precinct, which is proposed to be transferred by 2026.
Once the transfer is finalised, all new development applications for the area should be submitted to the City of Subiaco.
Plans to redevelop the northern pocket of Subiaco began in 1994, under the Subiaco Redevelopment Authority, with the aim to sink the railway station and revitalise the area now known as Subi Centro. Subi Centro includes a mix of medium density town houses and high density apartments in walking distance to Subiaco train station and the town centre.
