Three felled trees from the Kitchener Park site, which had to be removed during construction of Bob Hawke College, have been repurposed as beautiful hand-crafted furniture.
The street trees were required to be removed from Coghlan Road in 2018 to create a safe student drop-off area.
The trees, a Sugar Gum, Kurrajong and Flooded Gum were professionally felled, planed and stored for several months to dry.
They were then designed and crafted into bespoke furniture items including handrails for stairs, a conference table, credenza and lectern.
The lectern was used for the first time at the official opening ceremony on Sunday 2 February.
