New members for the City’s Design Review Panel were appointed at last night’s Council Meeting.
The expertise of these highly skilled and passionate panel members will be instrumental in providing independent advice to the Council to assist with improving the design quality of projects and development applications.
Six members were appointed to the Design Review Panel, including Chair Mr Phillip Griffiths, who has been a valuable member since the panel’s inception in 2012. He has extensive experience of design review across Perth and as a member of the Heritage Council of Western Australia.
All members demonstrate a broad range of experience and expertise across architecture, urban design, heritage, place making, landscape architecture and public art.
Two specialist members were also appointed; they will be invited to provide feedback at meetings as necessary.
Last night’s meeting also saw the appointment of six new members for the Disability Access and Inclusion Committee (DAIC). Members include business owners, local residents, and representatives who work with people with a disability.
DAIC members will provide independent advice to aid Council in important decision-making on issues pertaining to disability in the community.
The City would like to welcome new panel and committee members, and thank outgoing members for their expertise and contribution.
