City’s school holiday sessions a great success
Friday 11 October 2019

The City of Subiaco has been a hive of activity over the spring school holidays, with sold out workshops and fun-filled sessions in the library and Lords Recreation Centre for kids of all ages.

Hands-on workshops were held in the library on a variety of topics, including bird conservation, human biology, arts and crafts, and more.

The library also held a Flags for the Future workshop (pictured) which encouraged attendees to illustrate their hopes and prays for the future on a flag, which they could then hang up at home.

The idea was based on the Tibetan pray flag and there was a strong theme of environmental issues that emerged across the group.

Lords Recreation Centre also ran sold-out sessions, including Games Day, Spots Aplenty, Craft Kids: Halloween Fun and Crafty Kids: Slime Creation.

There was also a Mini Chef Masterclass in which attendees created their own monster cake and named it.

All workshops and sessions received overwhelming positive feedback and were sold out well in advance, showing there is a strong appetite for school holiday activities within the local community.
