Thomas HS Jazz Trio were out and about in Subiaco today giving locals a taste of the upcoming Subiaco Lounge Series, with the fun set to continue tomorrow.
Local performers, the Zucchini Brothers, will be taking to the streets on Saturday 28 September between 12pm and 2pm to get residents, businesses and visitors excited for the series.
The Subiaco Lounge Series will bring a taste of New Orleans to Subiaco with three big nights of free jazz from 3 to 5 October.
Taking place in the streets, on balconies and inside some the town centre’s best restaurants and bars, the inaugural See Subiaco event aims to support the local economy and businesses by encouraging visitation and increasing vibrancy.
Local and acclaimed artists will be front and centre with 15 different acts exploring jazz, RnB, blues, soul, bossa nova, swing and more.
The series will showcase Subiaco’s diverse and thriving local venues and businesses, and bring something truly unique to the Perth music scene that the community has been asking for.
Subiaco Lounge Series is the first action out of the City’s Place Plan which was developed from community feedback.
All performances are free to attend, with the exception of one special show by leading WA jazz vocalist Penny King who will be paying tribute to the music of Joni Mitchell in the Subiaco Hotel’s Stellar Lounge on 4 October.
