The City of Subiaco is continuing to bring the community vision for a unique, popular and welcoming place a step closer by achieving a number of significant actions from its Corporate Business Plan.
A report to Council this week updated elected members and the community on the work the City has done this year.
The City finalised or initiated work on a diverse range of projects this year, which all respond to community needs identified through extensive community consultation for the Strategic Community Plan.
Highlights include a Lords Recreation Centre facility upgrade, completed in March 2019, and the approval by Council of the final Parking Precinct Plans to improve parking management across the City, while still responding to the individual requirements of each precinct.
The City also implemented a Customer Request Management System enabling the City to respond more quickly to enquiries, such as requesting a new bin service or size, change of address, lodging a planning or building application and more. This new system also means the community can now submit online enquiries whenever it suits them, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Corporate Business Plan is the organisation’s guiding operational document for how it will achieve the community’s vision for the City as set out in the Strategic Community Plan, which was informed by extensive community consultation.
Ongoing actions from the Corporate Business Plan include:
- Precinct planning for station precincts and relevant areas for the Local Planning Scheme No. 5
- Investigating the possibility of a multi-purpose facility within the Subi East redevelopment
- Refurbishing the Subiaco Library
- Undertaking an extension of the Men’s Shed
